The Twelve Apostles

Prepare to be awed by The Twelve Apostles, a stunning collection of limestone stacks situated off the coast of Port Campbell National Park. This natural wonder, located along the breathtaking Great Ocean Road in Victoria, is one of the most popular destinations in Australia.

Comprised of various rock types, including limestone, calcarenite, mudstone, and sandstone, The Twelve Apostles were formed by years of erosion from rain, gale force winds, and wild seas. Towering approximately sixty five metres above sea-level, these remarkable structures have crumbled over time, reducing the original twelve to eight remaining today.

Packed with fascinating features, the area beneath the water’s surface houses a maze of canyons, caverns, and arches, teeming with vibrantly coloured seaweed, reef fish, and natural sponge gardens. You might even be lucky enough to spot an Australian Fur Seal.

Whether walking the sealed paths to the viewing areas or exploring by car, the tourist-friendly site boasts ample parking bays for easy accessibility. Plus, the low coastal vegetation allows for undisturbed, panoramic views. Come witness one of nature’s greatest masterpieces at The Twelve Apostles.
