Northern Territory
The Northern Territory (NT), is situated at the top end of Australia and is home to people representing more than 100 nationalities. It's ethenticy is complemented by it's native Aborignal culture, where more than a quarter of the population identify themselves as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders, which in turn blends well with its authentic Australian population.
The capital city Darwin is a relatively new city, having been rebuilt after being devastated by Cylcone Tracey. Darwin was also rebuilt just over 30 years prior to this, after having been bombed during the Pacific War. It is this resilience that breeds a special community of people. Everyone always loves a Territorian!
It is also home to an Australian giant, commonly known as Ayres Rock. It is now officially known as Uluru since it was returned to the Anangu, the Aboriginal owners, in 1985. The Rock is 450 km (270 miles) west of Alice Springs in the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park which covers over 132 000 ha.
