Lake Cave so named because of the beautiful lake within it.
Lake Cave is the most 'actively dripping' cave in the south west, and it's the only cave on the Leeuwin-Naturaliste Ridge that has a permanent lake. The cave is one of the deepest on the ridge, with entry access through a spectacular doline - a large hole in the earth's surface.
Trekking into the cave is difficult, but the guide gives you plenty of time. The walk back up to the top is at your own pace.
Lake Cave is 20 minutes south of Margaret River Townsite. It has the CaveWorks Eco Centre, where you learn all about caves; their history, hydrology, geology, and ecology, and the Lake Cave Tearooms onsite.
